Leave Details

Enter 0 if there is no specific cap being applied for your calculation. The actual cap depends on the applicable policy or terms.

Eligible Salary Components

Include other fixed components only if they are considered eligible for leave encashment under the applicable policy.

Deduction

This is an optional manual deduction field. Tax is not automatically calculated because tax treatment can vary.

Formula

Eligible Monthly Salary = Basic + DA + Other Eligible Component

Per-Day Eligible Salary = Eligible Monthly Salary ÷ Calculation Basis

Eligible Leave Days = Leave Requested, subject to Leave Balance and applicable Cap

Gross Leave Encashment = Per-Day Eligible Salary × Eligible Leave Days

Estimated Net Leave Encashment = Gross Leave Encashment − Other Deduction

Example Calculation

Suppose:

  • Basic Salary = ₹30,000
  • DA = ₹5,000
  • Other Eligible Component = ₹2,000
  • Leave Balance = 35 days
  • Leave Requested = 25 days
  • Maximum Encashable Cap = 30 days
  • Calculation Basis = 26 days
  • Other Deduction = ₹1,000

Eligible Monthly Salary = ₹30,000 + ₹5,000 + ₹2,000 = ₹37,000

Per-Day Eligible Salary = ₹37,000 ÷ 26 = ₹1,423.08

Eligible Leave Days = 25 days

Gross Leave Encashment = ₹1,423.08 × 25 = ₹35,576.92

Estimated Net Leave Encashment = ₹35,576.92 − ₹1,000 = ₹34,576.92

Note

The calculator first considers the employee's available leave balance and then applies the maximum encashable leave cap, if entered. The actual encashable leave may depend on company policy, employment terms and applicable rules.

The eligible salary components used for leave encashment can differ between organizations. Basic Salary and DA are commonly used for such calculations, but other components may or may not be included depending on the applicable policy.

The 26-day or 30-day calculation basis should be selected according to the applicable policy or calculation method. The calculator does not determine which basis legally applies.

Tax treatment is not automatically calculated. Actual tax treatment can depend on the employee's circumstances and applicable tax rules.

Disclaimer

This calculator provides an estimated leave-encashment amount for general reference and educational purposes only. Actual leave entitlement, eligible salary components, calculation basis, leave limits, deductions and tax treatment may vary depending on the employer, employment contract, company policy and applicable laws or rules.
