Calculate Payable Salary

Estimate salary for partial-month employment, mid-month joining, resignation or unpaid leave.

Formula

Net Payable Days = Days Employed − Unpaid Leave Days

Daily Salary Rate = Monthly Salary ÷ Selected Calculation Basis

Prorated Salary = Daily Salary Rate × Net Payable Days

Estimated Payable Salary = Prorated Salary − Other Deductions

Example Calculation

Suppose an employee has a monthly salary of ₹50,000, works 15 payable-period days, has 1 unpaid leave day, and the company uses a fixed 30-day basis.

  • Monthly Salary: ₹50,000
  • Calculation Basis: 30 days
  • Days Employed: 15
  • Unpaid Leave: 1 day
  • Net Payable Days: 14
  • Daily Salary Rate: ₹50,000 ÷ 30 = ₹1,666.67
  • Estimated Prorated Salary: ₹1,666.67 × 14 = ₹23,333.33

With no other deductions, the estimated payable salary is ₹23,333.33.

Note

Enter the number of days in the employee's payable employment period, including days that may later be excluded as unpaid leave. Subtract unpaid leave separately in the LOP field. Do not subtract the same day twice.

For the calendar-days method, the denominator is the selected month's actual number of days. February is adjusted for leap years. For fixed 26-day or 30-day methods, the selected fixed denominator is used. Employer policy, payroll rules and applicable law may require a different treatment.

This tool estimates salary only. It does not automatically calculate income tax, PF, ESI, professional tax, bonus, overtime or other statutory payroll adjustments.
